ELT-43407 5G Mobile Communications, 5 cr
This course focuses on the requirements, enabling technologies, use cases and applications of future fifth generation (5G) mobile communication networks.
For doctoral students, the scope of homeworks and project is more advanced compared to MSc students.
Suitable for postgraduate studies.
Toni Levanen, Mikko Valkama, Markku Renfors
|Active participation in the lectures, small exam or homework (lecture diary) for each lecture/topic area, and a small final project (e.g., literature study or simulation exercise). For doctoral students, the scope of project is more advanced compared to MSc students and a short presentation together with a 3-4 page report following IEEE publications guidelines is required.|
After passing this course, the students have good understanding on the potential, requirements, use cases, and core enabling technologies of future 5G and beyond wireless communication networks. Particular emphasis is on the 5G New Radio physical layer and radio system/network aspects.
