Lobna Hassan is an information systems researcher at the Gamification Group, University of Tampere and a PhD candidate at Hanken school of Economics. Hassan additionally coordinates the Gamification Groups’s funding endeavours. Prior to these positions, Hassn received her BSc and MSc, with high honours, in technology based management from the German University in Cairo. Hassan has extensively held teaching positions since then as a teaching assistant and an assistant lecturer at the German University in Cairo and briefly as a teaching assistant at Hanken School of Economics.
Hassan’s research interest are diverse but mainly include gamification, gamification design, social networks, e-participation and virtual reality. Hassan’s research has received funding from the German University in Cairo, the Hanken Foundation and the Finnish Foundation for Economic Education. Her research papers received awards for best paper and best presentation and she has authored several articles in prestigious academic journals such as user Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction, Simulation & Gaming and Information and Software Technology.
