Principles and baselines related to teaching and learning
The focus is on professional written communication skills that engineers encounter during their studies and work-life. The tasks and materials are predominantly online-based, with some contact with the teacher for support and feedback. Some implementations of the course will be integrated with Bachelor's level study programmes.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student can produce a range of professionally relevant types of text, e.g. emails, summaries and proposals. They can write clear, coherent, and well-organised text. They can consider audience, purpose and genre-specific conventions in their writing, and select an appropriate register for a given type of context. The student can also use a range of resources to develop their written communication skills independently.
