After passing this course a student has knowledge of compression methods for digital transmission and storage of video.

|1.||Compression methods for digital transmission and storage of video. The functional blocks of a modern video compression system with emphasis on signal processing aspects.|
|2.||Application of video compression algorithms in International standards (e.g. MPEG-4, H.263, H.264) and in practical video applications (digital TV, video phone, internet video).|
The course grade is based on the exam answers. Very good grade is obtained when exam questions are correctly answered and a project work is accepted. Threshold for passing the exam is at least half of the maximum exam points.
