TeekkariWappu – the best spring festival in town!

Wappu begins on 17 April when Tamppi-magazine is revealed. After that the streets of Tampere will be coloured by teekkari people and series of events. Renovations at city centre cause some changes to Wappu traditions this year. Instead of capping Suomineito statue at Hämeensilta bridge the capping takes place at Konsulinsaari. You can follow the capping of Kultakutri statue from the park Työnpuisto at midnight between the 30th April and the 1st May. The major Wappu event is May Day’s Teekkari dipping. Thousands of people will gather along the streets and the banks of Tammerkoski. This year you can use Teekkari Dipping -filter in snapchat to send awesome pictures to your friends!
