AI Hub Tampere  

Opening event: Tampere AI Hub for Intelligent Machines

AI Hub Tampere is a new artificial intelligence research center hosted by Tampere University. It is a neutral publicly funded center at your service, and open for anyone. The center organizes workshops, helpdesk sessions, experimental piloting and other support for adopting artificial intelligence in local companies. Our principle is to make AI easy to reach, affordable and all our services are free of charge, neutral and equal for all. The center is part of natiowide network of AI centers that is currently being built. Welcome to our opening event where you meet our key people from business and academia!

Hard Rock Tribology Seminar

The 10th TWC International Wear Seminar takes place at November 22th. The topics include area of mining, drilling and rock excavation with emphasize in hard rock tribology. Themes are for example: wear resistant materials in mining and drilling and abrasive, impact-abrasive, and erosion wear of steels in mining and mineral handling.

The 7th European Workshop on Visual Information Processing 

EUVIP 2018 continues the series of workshops on visual information processing, modeling, and analysis inspired by human and biological visual systems, with applications to image and video processing and communications. Event gathers some of the leading specialists working or interested in these areas. Welcome to talk about the latest and the most important issues in these fields in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere! Registration is open.

TUTLab open days for public

Last open day for public in autumn period is organized on 30. November 2018. TUTLab is open for anyone interested in digital fabrication. Use of the machines is free, you only pay for the materials. If you have an idea and a file ready, you can reserve the machine you need from tutlab@tut.fi. Tell us what you want to do and what machine you want to reserve.

Light-controlled microrobots take a leap forward

The members of the Smart Photonic Materials group at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) have achieved a breakthrough in reconfiguring light-controlled materials and thereby gained a greater degree of control over their movements. The results of this research were published in the prestigious Nature Communications journal.
