Our research and teaching focuses on Environmental Biotechnology and Water & Environmental management. Environmental Biotechnology is offered both in environmental engineering and the new biotechnology programs. Joint research areas include water, wastewater and solid waste management as well as remediation of contaminated environments. Environmental biotechnology includes also production-driven biotechnologies saving both raw materials and energy, control of microbial problems in industrial processes as well as molecular methods for studying the structure and function of the biological systems and biological information.
