STUDYING AT TUT
Tampere University of Technology (TUT) conducts scientific research in technology and architecture and provides the highest education within these fields. TUT offers programmes leading to Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees.
TUT is the second largest university of Technology in Finland and has a lively campus of 12,000 engineering and architecture students.
Leading-edge fields of research at TUT are signal processing based technologies, nanophotonics, biotechnology and intelligent mobile machines and hydraulic systems.
TUT offers seven International Master's Degree Programmes in the following fields: Biomedical Engineering, Business and Technology, Information Technology, Machine Automation, Materials Science, Radio Frequency Electronics and Science and Bioengineering. TUT has also striven to create favourable conditions for student exchange. All TUT faculties offer at least some courses in English. In addition, the courses of the International Master's Degree Programmes are also available for exchange students.
At present TUT cooperates (in student exchange) with 200 universities, 160 of them are with HEIs in EU countries. During 2008, about 430 exchange undergraduates were studying at TUT. In addition, there were 270 international students studying for the Master's degree. A total of 185 TUT students studied abroad in 2008.
