Books available for loan (Circulating collection)
The circulating collections are located on the ground floor. There are two collections:

Books (P Lainakirjat) - published in 1980 or later. Books - Shelf classification

Old books (P VK Vanhat lainakirjat) - published in 1979 or earlier. Old books- Shelf classification
Coursebooks
At the loan desk, there are coursebooks available for in-library loan during the opening hours and for overnight loan to be collected 30 minutes before the closing time. The location symbol is P Lainauspiste. There are coursebooks in the circulating collection as well. The coursebooks can be found in the TUTCAT by the title, by the author, and by the course code (e.g. kkMOL-3116).
The Reference collection
The reference collection is divided into two parts. On the ground floor there are general reference works: standards, encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, statute books, and statistics. Scientific and engineering reference books are on the first floor.
The books in the reference collections cannot be borrowed.
TUT Collection
Besides master's theses, licentiate's theses and dissertations there are lecture notes, laboratory reports and other material published by the Tampere University of Technology. The sub-collections are
P TTY - TUT publications, not available as loan
P TTY DI - Master's theses, available as loan for two weeks
P TTY Lis - Licentiate's theses, available as loan for two weeks
P TTY Tri - Dissertations, available as loan for two weeks
Periodicals
The issues of the journals published in the past two years are in the grey cabinets on the first floor. The journals published in 1980 or later are also on the first floor. The location symbol is P Ser.
Old journals, published in 1979 or earlier, are located in the compact stacks on the ground floor.
The current issues of the journals are on display for two weeks on the new items shelf on the ground floor, opposite the loan desk.
Newspapers can be read in Huili on the ground floor.
Department collections
Books in the department collections (TTY Laitoskokoelma) are for staff use only, and not available at the Library.
