Question: Who can access Library´s electronic journals? Is it possible to use Library's electronic journals outside the campus area?
Answer: Library´s electronic journals are available for all the students and staff of the University. E-journals can be accessed from any networked part of the University. Outside the campus area you have to log in to the University´s network in order to browse journals.
Question: I found an interesting thesis in the Library´s collection. Is it possible to borrow it?
Answer: Yes, you can borrow theses. The loan period for theses is 2 weeks. In general, the loan period for books is 5 weeks and for thesis, dictionaries and text books with a yellow marker in the spine 2 weeks.
Question: How can I reserve a book? Is it possible in Tutcat?
Answer: You can´t make a reservation in Tutcat, but there are many other ways. You can fill in a reservation form, which is in the Library´s web pages, Kirjasto -> Lomakkeet -> Varaus. Here is a direct link to the reservation form. You can also reserve a book at the Loan Desk. You can make a reservation only for the items that are charged out.
Question: How much does it cost to make a reservation?
Answer: The reservation fee is 1 EUR and it is payed when you pick up the book at the Loan desk.
Question: How can I renew my loans?
Answer: It is possible in Tutcat. There is a link to Tutcat in dLib, and in Tutcat you can both check your personal loans and renew them. Renewal is also possible by telephone.
Question: How can I check when do my loans fall due?
Answer: It is also possible in Tutcat, but it requires login. When you log in, Tutcat asks for the number of your library card and your last name.
