Remmi-Team scores second place
in the Shell Eco-marathon

TUT's Remmi-Team came in second in the category for vehicles powered by combustions engines of the Shell Eco-marathon. The contest was held in Germany.
The principle of the Shell Eco-marathon is simple: to design and build a vehicle that uses the least amount of fuel to travel the farthest distance.
Remmi-Team's result was 2,960 kilometres with only one litre of petrol, which is the best result a Finnish team has ever achieved abroad. Remmi came up slightly short of the team's own record they achieved in Finland (3,306 km/l) but the good result still took the team by surprise. The team will compete in a similar contest in Finland next August.
Remmi-Team is an association of students at Tampere University of Technology. The aim of the team is to take part to eco-marathons with special vehicles. The vehicles are self-made and designed especially for this purpose by the members of the team.
