The Language Centre, located on the second floor of the Mechanical Engineering Building (Konetalo), offers language courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in 9 languages: English, German, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
International students can choose from courses in Finnish at three different levels: Finnish for Beginners 1, Finnish for Beginners 2 and Intermediate Finnish 1.
In addition to Finnish, international students are also welcome to attend advanced-level courses in other languages including English, French, German and Russian. Note, however, that you may find it difficult to get into beginning-level courses, since these are the most popular and are usually fully booked before the course even starts. To ensure your place on beginning-level courses, contact the teacher in advance either by email or at the teacher's weekly office hour (see Personnel).
