Welcome to our web site where you will find
information of our recent and on-going research activities.
Our research interests are rather broad, but generally
speaking we are working on biologically relevant soft
matter problems related to living systems.

Biological physics, as many people call
this discipline nowadays, is an excellent example of
a cross-disciplinary field of science that bridges people
with various backgrounds to work on problems whose proper
understanding is crucial for life. Although much has been
done, we are still on our early days of understanding the
underlying physical principles that govern the behavior of
biological systems.
The BIO group operates at the
Tampere University of Technology
and also in part at the Helsinki University of Technology
as a member of the
COMP Center of Excellence.
