Osmo Härkönen, V.P. Group Quality, Wärtsilä Corporation:

"Today’s customers expect high performance and top quality when they buy products, solutions and services. The quality is essential for the success of the companies. In order to be competitive in the market and to meet the quality expectations of the customers, one has to develop one´s offering - be it product, solution, or service – based on customer needs.

A focus on quality and fulfilling customer needs, enables profitable growth – satisfied customers will buy again, in greater volume, and recommend the producer to other potential customers. This in turn guarantees that the personnel are motivated and proud of their work and the company they work for. In today’s hectic market environment it is simply not enough to prove that one is fulfilling the requirements of ISO Standards and to show the corresponding Quality Certificates to the customers.

Flawless operation is crucial when continuously producing top quality products. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for the companies to be able to demonstrate the credibility of their processes. To continuously develop products, solutions and services to fit their customers´ needs and to ensure that everything goes as planned and promised. Means can be numerous, but to make it more understandable for the customers, one has to use the methods that are well recognised around the world.

This course has collected the best of those techniques – Business Process Modelling, Lean Management, Six Sigma, the Theory of Constraints and Strategic Project Management - into one complete package. The package will give to practitioners the skills needed to prove that their companies are capable of serving their customers, continuously and reliably."
