Finnish Public Library as a Space of Democracy and Equality
The main point of my argumentation is that the Finnish public libraries form the essential element of the tradition of Finnish democracy and equality. Public library is also important institution and practice as a counterforce against inequal, even racists tendencies in the contemporary society.
To build libraries is to build democratic society with equal people and citizens (including also immigrants). How the library architecture would respond to the contemporary social challenges need also to be considered.
