Software Systems
The Department of Software Systems educates software experts, based on its scientific research. The research topics include software engineering, usability and computer science.
The Department of Software Systems is responsible for the basic studies in computing and programming within the Tampere University of Technology. In research our strengths are Software Engineering, Usability of software and devices and Computer Science Education Research.
In English, we offer basic and graduate courses; theses can written for the degrees of Master of Science in Engineering, Licenciate of Technology, Doctor of Technology, or Doctor of Philosophy. (The International Master's Program for Information Technology only admits students with a suitable Bachelor's degree.)
The organizational changes of TUT conjoined the Institutes of Software Systems (ISS) and Human-Centered Technology (IHTE) to the new Department of Software Systems at the beginning of the year 2008.
