The subject of the research is management and direction of urban design and planning processes from the viewpoint of project-based initiatives and multiple stakeholders, Urban Design Management (UDM). We research factors affecting the quality, quickness and efficiency of urban planning and design processes especially from the viewpoint of design. The project aims to construct multi disciplinary co-operation tools for enhance the development of current practice in urban design processes (Urban Design Management Tools).
The purpose of the project is to create new project based development and land use methods in as practical way as possible, but still utilizing scientific conceptualizing and innovation opportunities. The new methods will enhance possibilities for co-operation between different stakeholders within urban design and real estate development projects.
The objective of our research is a new direction for project-oriented processes, aiming to a high quality urban environment in an open-minded value networked stakeholder culture. The realization of the research project involves participation of the construction and real estate businesses and city representatives.
