The purpose of the study was to assess the feasibility of personal rapid transit system (PRT system called APGM, developed in Finland Techvilla Ltd.) in densely built environments in Tampere. The principal case study area was the suburb of Hervanta, where the planned APGM network was planned in order to connect the Technology Centre Hermia, University campus and surrounding residential areas with Hervanta local centre. In addition, the Tampere University Hospital area served as a supplementary case study area.
