Improving the energy efficiency of public buildings

Public buildings, e.g. schools, health centers, day care buildings constitute a building group which clearly deviates from that of apartment buildings. In addition to improved technical solutions, it is important to get comparable data on energy consumption. It must be developed tools for municipal decision makers so that they reliably can assess the potential of various energy savings methods and their costs.

In the project a calibrated building energy model is created.  Its objective is to describe the building’s energy consumption at a required level of detail and be a basis on reliable energy analyses. Factors explaining energy consumption are interior temperatures, ventilation air flow rates, CO2-concentrations and water consumptions.
