Mechanics and Design
The Department of Mechanics and Design (MEC) is active in machinery and technical systems design, analysis and use. Technical solutions are needed to facilitate the lives of human movement, transport, manufacturing and others in key day-to-day life tasks.
Departmental subjects can be complete bachelor's degree, M.Sc. and doctoral levels.
Research takes place in mechanical engineering, machine dynamics, power transmission, maintenance of technology, virtual technology, as well as machinery and buildings energy efficiency research groups.
Department also provides expert and research services to industry.
The head of the department is Professor Timo Kalema.
