Department of Materials Science (DMS) gives instruction in metallic materials, plastics and elastomers, ceramic materials, composites, coatings, and fiber materials. At the moment, almost half of the Finnish experts of materials science and engineering are trained at DMS. Teaching is modern, and the courses are mostly in English. The teaching methods include, in addition to lectures, also web based methods and problem based learning.
