Education

The Language Centre offers courses in ten languages altogether, as well as intercultural communication studies. There are more than 200 courses taught per year, serving up to 3,500 students.
These include courses for complete beginners in several languages together with more advanced courses for languages which, for example, have already been studied in high school. In addition, the Language Centre offers a minor in languages (23 credits).

Personnel

Including part-time staff, the Language Centre's teaching faculty consists of about 30 teachers. The office is staffed by the Language Centre Director, the Coordinator and an Office Secretary.

Cooperation

The Language Centre works in close cooperation with other Finnish university language centrer. It also belongs to the Finnish Language Centre network, FINELC, while in Europe the centre is an active member of CercleS.

Facilities

The Language Centre is located on the second floor of the ‘Konetalo’ building, which houses not only all the teaching facilities but also the teachers' offices and the Language Centre office. The Language Center also has a multimedia studio, and self-study facilities for the students.

The Language Centre is administered by the Faculty of Business and Technology Management.
