Research
Department of Energy and Process Engineering conducts diverse, high quality research in the wide field of energy and process industry. Our expertise covers industrial processes, energy production, efficient energy utilization and effects on health. We also know special aspects of refrigeration, paper conversion and packaging industries. Our know-how covers everything from smallest details to largest entities.
Publications
The Department publishes about 70 publications, about 40 candidate works and master thesis and 2 doctoral theses on an average every year. The publication lists are in the network available. Some of the publications are also electrically available.
Reseach Groups
- The main goal of the Energy Production Research Group is to develop renewable energy production processes in close cooperation with Finnish energy-related companies and boiler manufacturers.
- A central research area of the Environmental Health Research Group are health issues in the energy field and the effects on health of new technology.
- Flow Research Group is specialized round the application of the physical fundamentals of fluid flow to industrial problems.
- The Paper Converting and Packaging Technology Research Group investigates and develops various roll-to-roll packaging materials and their production technologies.
Research Partners
Department's research partners are mostly energy, process and forest industry companies and domestic and foreign universities and research institutions together with Tekes and Academy of Finland. We also take part in Nordic and EU projects.
