The activity on the printing laboratory at TUT can be divided to two areas; Printed electronics and Organic electronics.
Printed electronics group
The objective of the Printable Electronics Group is to develop novel hardware platform for electronic applications utilizing printing technologies. Our target is to develop architectures and electronic miniaturization concepts with innovative and novel combination of materials and processes that are feasible for industrial production. At present, the research is focused on interconnections, nanomaterials, sintering methods, direct chip attachment, reliability and failure analyses of printed and hybrid electronics.
Organic electronics group
The objective of Organic electronics group (OEG) is to develop new electronic devices utilising solution processable materials and printing processes. Group’s target is to develop devices with innovative and novel combinations of materials, structures and processes feasible for industrial production. In particular, this includes research on printability of various formulations of electronic materials, materials compatibility and interfacial properties, fabrication of devices and characterisation of printed materials, structures and devices. At present, the research is focused on printed antennas, diodes, transistors, sensors, supercapacitors and their circuits.
