Wind Power

Issues of wind power has been covered in many research projects during the last decade. Some of the projects have been done jointly with many partners in public funded research programmes, and some studies have been done in close co-operation with private companies. Research activities related to wind power and distributed generation have covered e.g. following topics:

  • Network planning and calculation methods to consider impacts and benefits of DG units to protection and voltage level management
  • Impacts of DG units on protection and power quality of distribution network
  • LOM -protection methods
  • Use of STATCOM or hybrid SVC in relation of wind farm
  • Controlling of variable-speed wind turbines during grid faults

More detailed descrition is giving in the slides on research activities on wind power and and distributed generation
