Storage battery based system

The role of battery-based energy storage will dramatically increase due to the emerging of electric cars and intermittent renewable energy sources. The power trains in these applications will be more and more hybrid solutions composing of primary energy sources as well as storage batteries and super or ultra capacitors. The previous research on the topic area has concentrated on the dynamic modeling of storage battery behavior and charge control in Telecom applications. These research activities have yielded one dissertation and two international patents. The recent research is more engaged in the dynamic behavior and control of the associated power trains in working machines and grid-connected renewable energy applications.
