Certified ScrumMaster Training


The learning goals

The aim of the training is that the participants will learn how to start executing along with everything necessary for getting started with Scrum. The participants will learn the fundamental principles of Scrum and gain hands-on practice.

By the end of the training the participant will (among others):

  • gain new tools for effective team communication
  • have mastered skills in widely-practiced planning techniques
  • start improving delivery of a committed product in a supportive and productive work environment
  • foresee immediate improvements in quality and almost certain improvements in customer satisfaction
  • know how to bring problems to the surface so they can be fixed

 

Target group

The training is designed to give aspiring and beginning ScrumMasters and team members the foundations of Scrum and Agile practice.
 

Content

The training consist of two training days and the ScrumMaster certification test, which is done on the web after the training days. The tuition includes lots of practical activities. After passing the test the participant receives a 2-year membership in the Scrum Alliance.

Trainer James O. Coplien

Jim Coplien is an old C++ shark who now does world-wide consulting on Agile software development methods and architecture. He is one of the founders of the software pattern discipline, and his organizational patterns work is one of the foundations of both Scrum and XP. He is a Certified Scrum Trainer.

He currently works for Gertrud&Cope in Denmark, and is a partner in the Scrum Foundation. Together with Gertrud Bjørnvig, he has just written a new book on Lean Software Architecture and Agile Software Development.
 

Venue

The training will be organised twice in the year 2011:

  • 18th-19th May 2011 and
  • 24th-25th October 2011

The training days are held at Edutech in Tampere (address: Hermiankatu 1, 4th floor).
 

Price

The participation fee is 1,700 €/participant. The fee includes tuition, training materials and meals during the training days (travel and accommodation costs are not included). For companies in the Pirkanmaa region, there is a possibility to apply financial support from Tredea covering 50 % of the training costs. At the moment the support is available only for the training in May. Please contact Mr. Aki Anttila at Tredea (firstname.surname@tredea.fi).

In accordance with current regulations, Edutech training is VAT free. We reserve the right to change the price if there occurs change in VAT practices.
 

Enrolment

The final date to enrol to the training in May is 14 April. Please fill in the enrolment form.

The final date to enrol to the training in October is 22 September. Please fill in the enrolment form.

The maximum number of participants in each training is 20. The enrolments are confirmed in the order the forms are received.

If the participant cancels later than one month before the training starts or the participant fails to take part in the program, 50% of the fee will be charged. Should an obstacle arise, a registration can however be transferred to a colleague without any extra fee. In case of any changes please contact Edutech (+358(0)3 3115 11, edutech@tut.fi).
