The history of Department of Computer Systems of TUT originates its root for the establishment of Department of Electronics in 1967. In 1988 the Department of the Information Technology - which had started from the Department of Electronics - was divided into two parts as a consequence of the huge growth. One of these was the Department of Signal Processing. In 2000 the study and teaching of digital systems and especially of VLSI systems separated from Department of Signal Processing as an own unit, Department of Digital and Computer Systems was born. In 2007 the name was changed into Department of Computer Systems.
In Department of Computer Systems employs five professors, two senior assistants, four researcher doctors, two university teachers, tens of researchers and research assistants. The researcher participates in teaching actively in addition to the research work.
