RF communication circuits group (RFCC) focuses on integrated RF-circuit design for wire-less communications. During the earlier years, great effort has been put on the design of monolithic voltage-controlled and digitally controlled oscillators (VCOs and DCOs). Currently, the main topics include highly efficient monolithic DC-DC converters and so-called digital ra-dio processors, i.e., receiver architectures based on sampling at RF and using switched-capacitor based analog discrete-time signal processing in the receiver front end. The group is led by Prof. Nikolay Tchamov, and consists of 5 Ph.D. students and 3 research assistants.
