Research collaboration

The Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology Laboratory co-operates with industry and public sector. Research focuses on principles and applications of sustainable industrial processes, renewable energy production and technologies for drinking water production, remediation of contaminated environments as well as municipal and industrial effluent treatment. The laboratory has a wide co-operation network with national and international companies and research institutions.

Environmental Engineering and biotechnology has laboratories for aerobic and anaerobic microbiology, molecular biology, bioengineering, water technology, instrumental analysis, bioleaching and algal technology. Instrumental analysis uses gas and liquid chromatographic methods. Microbiological and molecular biology research uses up-to-date methods and instruments. Laboratory an pilot-scale systems are used development of bioprocesses. In addition, many research project include on-site and in-situ experimentaltions in the field.

Chemistry Laboratory collaborates with various companies on chemistry-related research both in Pirkanmaa region and elsewhere in Finland. A flexible form of cooperation is the work done by students for their diploma theses, which have been carried out for companies of various fields ranging from small domestic to international large-scale enterprises. The Laboratory has a wide variety of the basic research equipment of chemistry including spectroscopic, chromatographic, and thermoanalytical methods. The broad international research collaboration of the Laboratory is best elucidated by the activities of the research groups: SPC Group and Synthesis-group.

If you are interested in reseach colaboration, please contact the professor and the senior staff of the recearch group.
