Melt spinning of bioactive glass
Bioactive glass reaches suitable viscosity for melt spinning in a certain temperature. This characteristic is used in the spinning of bioactive glass.
To reach a homogenous melting of bioactive glass a certain heating programme is used. The programme is composed by experimental testing. The temperature is first raised at a constant rate and then kept there for a specific time. Other glass types can be heated in a similar way or the program can be modified.
