Network of paper applications
The present trend in papermaking is towards higher machine speeds and improved paper quality. This requires more stability for the papermaking processes. The stability can be achieved by improving the process and the automation. In order to develop new processes their properties should be known accurately. This knowledge can be achieved by extensive process tests and the simulations.
In this project a simulation environment Advanced Paper Mill Simulator (APMS) was used for designing and developing the papermaking processes. The objective of this project was to develop APMS and its applications to a level where they can be used in the projects as a product development tool as well as a design tool. This type of tool makes possible changes in the design practices.
