The Department of Automation Science and Engineering is a part of Faculty of Automation, Mechanical and Materials Engineering. The department was founded at the beginning of 2008 by merging the Institute of Automation and Control and the Institute of Measurement and Information Technology.
The main topics of education are the basic studies in Systems and Automation, and the advanced studies in Information Systems in Automation, Microsystems, Process Automation, and Systems Analysis.
The development and study of detailed research theories, methods and tools of the systems technology have been organized into several research groups as Automation and Information Networks, Automation Software, Micro- and Nanosystems, Process Automation, Measurement Information, Sensor Technology and Biomeasurements, and Image Measurements.
