Flexible JOO study right for degree students

JOO-studies

Degree students can complete part of their studies at any university in Finland. Finnish universities have a joint agreement (called JOO agreement) that allows undergraduate and graduate students to include courses completed at any Finnish university in their home university degree.

To apply for the flexible JOO study right, the student needs to be registered as attending at the home university. For the student JOO-studies are free of charge. The study right is valid for two years maximum. The application is sent by by the Joopas on line system (www.joopas.fi).

The application form is processed both at the home university and the host university. Students are recommended to reserve enough time for the whole application process (1.5 - 2 months). The application is first returned to the home university for approval. The student must enclose his/her Personal Study Plan (PSP) with the application, and the PSP must indicate which study module the JOO-studies will be included in.

Based on the student's Personal Study Plan (PSP), the head of degree programme at the home university will decide if the courses will be counted toward the student's home university degree.

The decision on the JOO-application will be sent to the student via Joopas. The decision will list the courses for which the study right is granted for.

Joo-studies at TUT

As s JOO-student you will need to register at the Student Services in order to to get your TUT user account. For the registration you will need to fill and deliver the enrollment form. There is no automatic transfer of information between the Joopas on line system and the TUT Student Register and therefore the enrollment is essential for your study right.
