Admission to doctoral studies is based on the applicant's individual merits and qualifications as presented in the application form and the required documents.
Applications are processed and the decisions concerning admission are made on a case-by-case basis.
The following documents must be enclosed with the filled application form (see below):
1) attested copy of your master's degree certificate, its English translation and Diploma Supplement in English (also an attested copy of your bachelor's degree certificate and its English translation, if any)
2) official transcripts of all university records and their English translations.
3) Curriculum Vitae,
4) statement of purpose
5) study/research plan for a doctoral degree at TUT
6) certificate of proficiency in the English language for students whose native language is not English.
7) original letters of recommendation (minimum 2) addressed to Tampere University of Technology
8) official proof of financial support signed by a parent, guardian, employer or organisation that has granted a scholarship.
9) copy of international passport
10) portfolio (architecture students only)
11) Progression Plan for Postgraduate Studies (see below)
12) A supporting letter from a supervisor (can be sent to International Office at TUT by inside mail)
The documents listed above must be written in English (or in Finnish or Swedish). All documents must be officially attested copies. All translations must be officially certified and accompanied by a copy of the original. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
