Postgraduate studies whilst working

Postgraduate students can finance their studies in a variety of ways. They can, for example, be employed as research assistants at TUT, pursue studies within TUT’s doctoral programme, or finance their studies with a scholarship or grant.

International postgraduate students are strongly recommended to apply for scholarships, grants or other financial aid from sponsors in their home countries and from international foundations or other sources. International postgraduate students are usually required to be financially self-sufficient, as TUT is able to offer scholarships only in very few cases.

Assistant positions are sometimes available for international postgraduate students at TUT. In addition to teaching classes, assistants pursue postgraduate studies and conduct scientific research.

The Ministry of Education has allocated appropriations to the University for new graduate schools. The aim of these schools is to develop studies leading to a doctoral degree and to improve the quality of postgraduate education to better correspond with the modern challenges of teaching, research and working life. Graduate schools offer salaried positions for postgraduate students.

Assistant positions and positions in graduate schools are filled based on an open application procedure.

In addition, TUT strives to employ postgraduate students in research projects. Postgraduate students can work as researchers at the departments, independent institutes and other units.
