By air

Tampere is well connected and really easy to reach. There are direct flights for example from Helsinki, Stockholm, Bremen, Budapest, and Riga to Tampere-Pirkkala airport. Airlines: Finnair, SAS, Ryanair, and airBaltic.

There is a direct and inexpensive bus connection to Tampere from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Buses leave at regular intervals at all hours – the staff at the information desks at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport will be happy to point you in the right direction.

You can also catch the fast Pendolino train from Tikkurila train station to Tampere. The journey only takes 1 hour 10 min. There is a train connection from Helsinki airport to Tikkurila train station, see details.

By car


Free parking is available for visitors outside Vapriikki. You need a parking permit, which can be collected from the museum’s information desk.
