F.A.Q.

All relevant information and printable application forms can be found from programme pages.

No. Currently we are not enrolling students on a part time basis and the educational arrangements require immediate contact, participation and interaction.

Am I required to have taken any specific undergraduate courses?
No, there are no prior course requirements. However, the applicant must have a B.Sc. degree in a field related to the programme with proficiency in university mathematics, physics and elementary programming skills.

The language of my previous education was English. Do I need to take an English language test?
Applicants whose native language is other than English must take either the TOEFL, IELTS or CPE/CAE test.

Do you accept the language certificate after the application deadline?
The language test must be taken before the application deadline and the report must reach TUT by the end of April to ensure a proper process of the application.

Is GRE-test compulsory?
The GRE-test is not compulsory. If you take it and the test result is very good, it can support your application.

You can apply now if you are going to graduate by the end of next July, when the B.Sc. degree must be totally completed. If my application is rejected this year, is it possible to consider it next year?
If you aspire to a place in next year's course, you have to re-apply. Please remember that most applications are rejected because of lack of qualification only. Thus, if you have not acquired additional academic qualification in the meantime, your application will most probably be rejected again.

I was accepted to another programme of TUT. Can my admission be transferred to this Programme?
No. You have to submit a new application for this Programme during the application period. As your qualifications and merits were evaluated from a perspective of other field of education than Radio Frequency Electronics, the result can’t be applied as such to our programme.

In Finland, education leading to a university degree is free of charge for the student (Universities Act 645/1997). Unfortunately TUT can’t offer any scholarships to international students. The students are supposed to have enough funds to cover living costs, accommodation and other costs related to studying at TUT.

Can I work (as a student research assistant) to finance my studies?
In general, research assistantships are possible for students at TUT. However, we can not guarantee, or even help you to obtain a position as a student assistant. The working time for students is both limited by law and by the demands of the programme (you'll need time also to prepare for lectures, homework, etc.). Therefore financing your studies by a student assistantship alone is probably not possible.
