Kai Salminen is Project manager in Department of Production Engineering at Tampere University of Technology. He has B.Sc in Mechanics and Design, M.Sc in Production Technology and Industrial Economics, Doctoral studies in Production Engineering and Industrial Economics. Areas of interest and expertise are Sustainable Factory Planning, Competitive Sustainable Manufacturing, Production Systems Design, Industrial Information systems, Technology Foresight and Innovation Systems. Current work is on Distributed Information Integrated Manufacturing Systems (DiMS) , Competitive Sustainable Manufacturing and eco-factories. He has worked 20 years in industry and 10 years in research acting as project manager of several national and EU-research projects and technology programmes and participates on Technology Foresight groups of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries Department of Innovation activities and EU.
