INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION MODELLING AND KNOWLEDGE BASES - EJC
The serie of European – Japanese Conference on Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases (EJC) originally started as a co-operation initiative between Japan and Finland in 1982. The practical operations were then organized by professor Ohsuga in Japan and professors Hannu Kangassalo and Hannu Jaakkola in Finland (Nordic countries). Geographical scope has expanded to cover Europe and also other countries. Workshop characteristic - discussion, time enough for presentations and limited number of participants (50) / papers (30) - is typical to the conference.
The papers presented in the conference are published in the Series of "Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence" by IOS Press (Amsterdam). The books "Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases Vol. n" are edited by the Editing Committee of the conference.
Responsible for the contents of the conference; nominated per conference. Programme committee has two operating co-chairs (Professor Yasushi Kiyoki, Keio University, Japan, and Professor Bernhard Thalheim, Christian Albrechts University Kiel, Germany) and a permanent General Programme Chairman (Professor Hannu Kangassalo, University of Tampere, Finland). Other members will be nominated per conference (see Call for Papers).
Responsible for the practical arrangements of the conference; nominated per conference (see Call for Papers). Organizing committee has a permanent General Organizing Chairman (Professor Hannu Jaakkola, Tampere University of Technology, Finland).
Responsible for the editing work of the conference book; nominated by the steering committee.
Responsible for the continuation and working principles of the conference.
