Industrial Research Fund - Tampere University of Technology

Industrial Research Fund

The Industrial Research Fund at Tampere University of Technology was established by Tampere Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its member companies in 1987 to financially support the University’s research and other activities.

Each year, the Industrial Research Fund grants approximately one million euros of funding to the University.

The Industrial Research Fund relies almost entirely on donations and bequests. Donors may have a fund named after them.

Over the years, donations and the resulting revenue have enabled the Industrial Research Fund to not only support TUT's research activities but also fund the construction of the sports hall Tamppi Areena as well as purchase flats that are available for hire by visiting scientists in Tampere.

The Industrial Research Fund gives out grants and scholarships, among others, to students who are preparing a master’s thesis or a doctoral dissertation at the University.
