Wireless internet connection
TUT offers visitors wireless Internet access across the campus. There are three wireless services available: eduroam, LANGATON-WPA and TUT. All the networks require authentication. Users log on to the wireless network with their home institution's username and password, if the home institution has joined the roaming service, or through a temporary visitor account.

TUT has joined eduroam (http://www.eduroam.fi), a world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. If your home institution is eduroam-enabled, you may use your home username and password to connect to TUT's eduroam network. Eduroam is a WPA protected network (802.1x + WPA/WPA2) and your computer needs to be configured correctly to enable access to the network. For instructions on configuring the settings, please contact your home institution's IT support services.

TUT has also joined the wireless community network Wireless Tampere (http://www.langatontampere.fi). Wireless Tampere is a WPA protected network (802.1x + WPA/WPA2) and your computer needs to be configured correctly to enable access to the network. For instructions on configuring the settings, please contact your home institution's IT support services.
Those visitors whose home institution does not participate in eduoam or Wireless Tampere can obtain Internet connectivity through the TUT network that uses web-based authentication. You need a temporary guest account to access the network. To obtain a username and password, please contact the person who invited you to TUT. The University does not offer support services to wireless network users, but you can contact the IT Helpdesk (room PC201D on the 2nd floor of the Main Building) for assistance in configuring your network settings.
