The Master's Degree Programme in Electrical Engineering, MSc (Tech), offers qualified students the opportunity to complete a two-year degree in one of the following areas: biomedical engineering, electronics, smart grids in electrical energy distribution, and wireless communications. It is one of eight master's programmes that are taught in English at Tampere University of Technology (TUT).

When applying for admission to the programme, you select your focus area (major) from among the following: biomedical engineering, electronics, smart grids or wireless communications. A rich variety of minor studies and supplemental courses are available as well as the opportunity to concentrate purely on major studies. Each degree is a unique combination of studies that individual students have found most interesting.

Eligible to apply are students who hold a Bachelor of Science degree from an internationally recognized university either in electrical or electronics engineering, communications engineering or any equivalent discipline related to the programme and especially to the proposed major. Prior work experience is appreciated but not required. As all courses are taught in English, both oral and written proficiency is required.

About the degree

Students who satisfy all the requirements of the programme are awarded the degree of Master of Science in Technology. This degree is conferred in accordance with the official degree system of Tampere University of Technology and Finnish higher education regulations. Following the successful completion of the programme, you are eligible to apply for direct entrance to doctoral programmes in biomedical engineering, electronics, electromagnetics, communications engineering, digital and computer systems engineering, signal processing, power engineering or power electronics.
