Country-specific document requirements

Applicants whose degrees have been awarded in certain countries need to pay special attention to the documentation before submitting it. In addition to the standard document requirements, educational documents from certain countries must be submitted in a particular way. These country-specific requirements must always be followed first and foremost, prior to any regular requirements for attesting documents.

Australia
If your degree was awarded in Australia, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Bangladesh
If your degree was awarded in Bangladesh, the copies of the degree certificate and transcript of records have to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. Each page of the transcript of records and the degree certificate has to be stamped and signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. Copies of copies will not be accepted. All copies must have the original stamp given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Cameroon
If your degree was awarded in Cameroon, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Canada
If your degree was awarded in Canada, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

China (updated 6.11.2014)
If you have completed or are completing your degree in China, your educational documents must be submitted to the CDGDC (China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center, 教育部学位与研究生教育发展中心) for verification.

If you have graduated:
1. The CDGDC must verify the authenticity of your transcript of records and degree certificate. Verification reports concerning these two documents (in English) and the transcript of records (in English) must come to the TUT Admissions Office from the CDGDC.
2. You must submit authenticated copies of your graduation diploma and degree certificate in the original language to the TUT Admissions Office.

If you have not yet graduated:
The CDGDC must verify the authenticity of your latest transcript of records. The transcript of records and its verification report (both in English) must come to the TUT Admissions Office directly from the CDGDC.

Please note that the Chinese New Year holiday season may affect the processing of your documents and therefore you must have your documents verified and delivered by the CDGDC well in advance. No exceptions to the deadlines will be made.

Eritrea
If your degree was awarded in Eritrea, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Ethiopia
If your degree was awarded in Ethiopia, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Ghana
If your degree was awarded in Ghana, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

India
If your degree was awarded in India, in addition to the attested copies of your degree certificate and transcript of records, attested copies of individual mark sheets from each semester are required. Official transcripts must be delivered to the TUT Admissions Office directly by the issuing institution in the institution's sealed envelope. If the institution does not re-issue official transcripts or mark sheets, photocopies of the original documents must be attested by the Controller of Examinations or Registrar and delivered to the TUT Admissions Office in the institution's sealed envelope.

Indonesia
If your degree was awarded in Indonesia, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Iran
If your degree was awarded in Iran, copies of the educational documents must be legalised by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Embassy in Tehran. Official translations of educational documents must be certified by the Ministry of Justice. Copies of copies will not be accepted. All the copies must have the original stamp given by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Embassy in Tehran.

Ireland
If your degree was awarded in Ireland, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Kenya
If your degree was awarded in Kenya, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Malaysia
If your degree was awarded in Malaysia, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Nepal
If you degree was awarded in Nepal, an official transcript of records must be sent in a sealed envelope directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office.

If your university is not able to send the transcript, please request for the document to be attested by the Controller of Examinations or the Registrar and to be placed in an official sealed envelope. You can submit the sealed envelope yourself with your other application documents to the TUT Admissions Office. Transcripts or mark sheets attested by persons outside the Controller of Examination or Registrar's Offices will not be accepted.

New Zealand
If your degree was awarded in New Zealand, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Nigeria
If your degree was awarded in Nigeria, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Pakistan
If your degree is awarded in Pakistan, your degree certificate and transcript of records have to be attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan. Each page of the degree certificate and the transcript of records must have the original attestation stamp and signature of an HEC official. Copies of copies will not be accepted. Copies certified before September 20, 2009 are not accepted, as the copies must be verifiable from HEC’s online service.

South Africa
If your degree was awarded in South Africa, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Sudan
If your degree was awarded in Sudan, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

United Kingdom
If your degree was awarded in United Kingdom, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

USA
If your degree was awarded in USA, an official transcript of records must be sent directly from your university to the TUT Admissions Office in a sealed envelope. The envelope cannot contain any other application documents than the transcript. Transcripts handled or delivered by the applicant will not be accepted.

Vietnam
If your degree was awarded in Vietnam, copies of the educational documents must be legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam and the Finnish Embassy in Hanoi.
