At TUT, nine out of ten Master’s theses are written for the needs of industrial or other companies. Industry also plays an active role in monitoring and supporting dissertations for postgraduate degrees. Theses and dissertations are a means for companies to attain direct access to the latest knowledge in matters of interest to them.
Many companies commission Master’s theses and other research on a regular basis from the same institute or research group. Newly graduated Masters of Science often receive their first offer of employment from the company that commissioned their thesis.
