Two new members join the Board of the TTY Foundation

The Academic Board of Tampere University of Technology has today appointed three members to the Board of the TTY Foundation for the term 2016-2016. Doctor of Social Science Nando Malmelin and PhD Mari Pantsar join the Board as new members. PhD Tero Ojanperä was re-appointed.

New Board members were appointed to succeed three of the current members, whose terms will end at the end of 2015. 

Doctor of Social Science Nando Malmelin holds an appointment as Professor of Practise at Aalto University. He has extensive experience of working in the business world (e.g. A-lehdet) and academia (Universities of Helsinki, Sydney and Turku, and Turku School of Economics). The committee making preparations for the appointment commented that Malmelin has special expertise in communications and brand building, especially from the perspective of leadership, strategies and creativity. 

Doctor of Philosophy Mari Pantsar is a Director at the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, where she leads the theme area titled “Resource-wise and carbon-neutral society”. According to the Appointment Committee, Pantsar has wide-ranging experience in the environment and cleantech sectors, a broad network of contacts with policy-makers, and expertise in creating and utilizing new funding models.

Doctor of Philosophy Tero Ojanperä was re-appointed for a further term on the TTY Foundation’s Board. Ojanperä serves as Chairman of the Board from 2012 to 2015. Ojanperä has experience of working in an international corporation, developing new technologies and leading a research organization. He has broad investment experience and sits on the Boards of several companies. 

MD, PhD Sirpa Jalkanen, DTech Antti Kaunonen, DTech Kati Korhonen-Yrjänheikki and DSc (Econ.) Sixten Korkman will continue as Board members until the term ending in late 2017.
