The Guild of Civil Engineering at TUT celebrates 50th anniversaryThe year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the association of civil engineering students at TUT. The association has celebrated this milestone with a series of events and activities throughout the year, culminating with a gala and the publication of an anniversary book on 28 October.
The guild of Civil Engineering at Tampere University of Technology (TUT), TARAKI for short, was established in autumn 1967 to bring together civil engineering students and promote their interests in professional and societal questions.
Over the years, the range of activities has expanded. TARAKI hosts student events and company visits and conducts collaboration projects with industry and business. Active involvement in TARAKI’s activities also enables students to develop their employability skills and build contacts with potential employers.
The 50th anniversary gala attracted more than 400 guild members, both current students and alumni, some of whom started their studies at TUT in the late 1960s.
