The Academy of Finland grants funding to Research Fellow Kirsi Granberg

The Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Health selected the recipients of postdoctoral research funding on 6 June 2012. One of the recipients is Research Fellow Kirsi Granberg from the Department of Signal Processing of Tampere University of Technology (TUT).

Granberg’s research topic is glioma, which is a common type of brain tumour. Most patients diagnosed with malignant glioma have a poor prognosis.

The call for proposals ended on 3 October 2011 and the Research Council for Health received 120 applications. Funding was granted to 23 applicants. The funding period runs from 1 September 2012 to 31 August 2015. Only 19% of the high-quality applications were accepted.
