The exhibition showcases the many applications of light in the fields of entertainment and technology along with practical uses. Tampere University of Technology (TUT) and its spin-offs, such as Modulight Oy, will put on display a range of optoelectronics applications, such as solar cells, optical fibres, leds and the latest breakthroughs in laser technology.

The exhibition also includes some of the old decorative street lights that have been on display during Tampere Illuminations.  The oldest known Edison light bulb in Finland, which was lit in Tampere in 1881, is also on display at Vapriikki.
