Samuli Pekkola to chair the Scandinavian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems

Professor Samuli Pekkola from the Laboratory of Industrial and Information Management at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has been appointed as Chairman of the Scandinavian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems for a two-year term from August 2017 onwards.

The Scandinavian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems, also known as the IRIS Association, promotes research and research education in the use, development and management of information systems in Scandinavia. The Association hosts the annual Scandinavian Conference on Information Systems (SCIS) and the Information Systems Research Seminar in Scandinavia (IRIS), and publishes the Scandinavian Journal on Information Systems.

The SCIS Conference is the oldest continuously running IS conference in the world. The IRIS Association has some 150 members, and its mailing list reaches 470 subscribers. The parent association, the worldwide Association for Information Systems (AIS), has 6,000 members.
